For added convenience and flexibility, our at-home venous sample allows you to collect a sample at your own convenience. If you prefer a simple and quick sampling method, our capillary blood test kit may be the best choice for you. We do advise caution with the capillary test, due to the nature of the test it is more prone to clotted results. What do you test for in your blood tests and why?Total Testosterone: Measures the total amount of testosterone in the blood, providing insight into overall testosterone levels. Free Testosterone: Measures the amount of testosterone that is not bound to proteins in the blood, representing the biologically active form of testosterone. SHBG (Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin): Binds to testosterone and regulates its bioavailability in the body. Elevated SHBG levels can reduce free testosterone levels. Albumin: Another protein that binds to testosterone, though less strongly than SHBG. Albumin-bound testosterone represents a fraction of total testosterone available for use. Oestradiol (Estrogen): Measures estrogen levels, which can impact testosterone metabolism and contribute to symptoms of hormonal imbalance. PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen): Screens for prostate health and helps monitor for potential prostate issues, as testosterone therapy may affect PSA levels. LH (Luteinizing Hormone) and FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone): Regulate testosterone production in the testes. LH stimulates testosterone production, while FSH is involved in sperm production. Prolactin: Regulates reproductive function and can influence testosterone levels. Elevated prolactin levels may indicate a hormonal imbalance. TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone) and Free T4: Assess thyroid function, which can impact metabolism and overall health, potentially affecting testosterone levels. Full Blood Count: Evaluates red and white blood cell counts, hemoglobin levels, and platelet count, providing insights into overall health and potential blood-related issues. Lipids (Cholesterol and Triglycerides): Measures lipid levels, which are important for cardiovascular health and may be affected by testosterone therapy.
